Pub Fields
From PubNight
OK this is a bit complicated but there are lots of very sound reasons behind what we have done. See the Discussion page for talk about new fields etc.
we have added some "macros" to the wiki
show : Used to display data from the Data pages
link : Used to create links using data from the data pages. Whilst this might sound odd it allows ALL the links to a pub across the whole site to be updated simply by changing data in the data page.
The format of both these macros is the same:
macro|keyword|digraph
where
macro is show or link
keyword is from a special list of keywords (explained below)
digraph is the Pub Night Digraph
To use the macros the entire phrase should be included in double curly braces
Keyword | Description | Show | Link |
header | Displays the header tempate - populated with data from the data page |
YES | NO |
footer | Displays the footer template - populated with data from the data page |
YES | NO |
lastvisit | Displays the last visit information | YES | NO |
data | Links to the Pub Night Pub Data page | NO | YES |
page | Links to the main Pub description page | NO | YES |
pubname | Displays the pub name information | YES | NO |
image | Embeds the image file given in the Data Page into the current page |
YES |
NO |
In more technical detail - the keyword is the name of another template (the wiki term for macros) that produces the appropriate fields from the data page. If you want to create a new one you can probably make it up by looking at the others.
So
{{show|pubname|DUMMY}} was last visted on {{show|lastvisit|DUMMY}}. Follow {{link|page|DUMMY}} to read all about it
produces:
Pub Name Goes in Here was last visted on 22 February 2006. Follow Pub Name Goes in Here to read all about it
