The Pubnight Destination Digraph for this pub is JH

Traditional pub on Vauxhall Bridge Road, not far from Victoria station. It has a tall ceiling and exactly the sort of furniture and layout you might expect in this part of London, despite only being converted to a pub (from a bank) in the early 1990s.

The pub serves Fuller's beers and has pretty much the whole range. On draft I found Chiswick Bitter, Discovery, London Price, ESB and a beer I'd not come across before - McHarry. They also had other Fuller's beers in bottles - Jack Frost, Honey Dew, London Porter, Golden Pride and 1845. All the beers were in cracking condition.

The pub specialises in pies - with such offerings as cock-a-leekie and the house special hare pie on the menu. I wish I'd known earlier and then I would have gone there for dinner. Most of the pies were about £8 including spuds and veg.

[When Nick visited in April 2008 he had the chicken and ham pie, and it wasn't bad at all. Pie prices more £9-10 but still not bad]

Good to see a proper pub. Good stuff - go here.
